My review of the Creator
The Creator: This movie takes place in the future where there is a war between humans and machines. The humans have a chance to get the upper hand in the war if they destroy their secret weapon. Things get complicated when a soldier name Joshua realizes the weapon is an A.I. child. On top of that the child has something he wants. So, Joshua and the girl have to avoid the authorities long enough to get what he wants.
This movie failed to tell a familiar story in an interesting or engaging way. The new elements the movie introduces are wasted. I mean it's not used to separate itself from the other movies that told this story. It's hard to appreciate that this movie is about a war because A we don't see it and B the world in this movie doesn't operate like it's at war. Giving the robots faces doesn't humanize them so what's the point of that? There is a scene where police endanger children that wasn't necessary. The film can be boring due to the pacing. Whatever theme this movie has it wasn't done well.
There isn't much to say about Joshua he's just an empty vessel. We see him being hunted by his past and we don't see him bond with the girl.
The only good thing I can say about this movie is the visuals. Overall, this movie is a waste of time. I hope the 5-hour cut fixed all the problems with this movie.
