Fast and Furious film series review

Fast and Furious film series review

The fast and the furious: This movie is about an undercover cop name Brian trying to bust a gang of thief’s lead by Toretto, this gang is also involve in street racing. Things get difficult when he starts to bond with this gang so he has to decide to turn them in or not? This movie is basically Point Break with cars. I buy the connection Brian made with this gang. That’s the themes of this movie family and loyalty. I don't like Toretto's girlfriend there is a different between being a tough woman and sounding like a tough woman. This is a OK movie I would recommend this if you like Point Break and No Man’s Land.
Rating = Rental

2 Fast 2 Furious: Wow you call this a sequel; I mean most of the original cast is not in this movie. No wonder this movie won Razzies. This film is about Brian who is now a fugitive after what he did in the last movie, in order to clean his record he has to help the U.S Custom agent to stop a drug lord. Brain does this with the help of an old friend name Roman. This is more of a spinoff then a sequel. I don't like the interaction between Brain and Roman because talk and at like teenagers. I'm sorry there is nothing salvageable about this movie, it looks like some that worked at the Lifetime network did this movie. This movie is bland flat bland, this should have been a direct to DVD release.
Rating = Trash
Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift: How is this movie a part of this franchise, I mean none of the characters from the previous are in this movie are we being punked? This film is centered on a boy name Sean who was sent to Tokyo Japen because of his troubled past, during his time Japan he meets someone name Twinke that introduce him to a new type of street racing called Drift that got him into more troubled. So Sean has to get out of his dilemma plus earn the respect of his peers.

 At first I didn't think this film was part of this franchise until I saw a familiar face in this film, then I learn that this film is the last film in this series what. Are we being punked agian, what's the point of this? Why would they release this film as the third film and treat it as the third, by doing this you are taking away the suprise of whats going to happen in the earlier films. I like the characters Twinke and Hans, that's the only good thing I can say about this movie. I don't like Sean the main character he's just so bland. I also don't like the love interest I can't tell if she's into Sean or not. Bottom line this movie should also be passed as a spinoff.
Rating = Trash

Fast and Furious: Finally an actual sequel to this series, however this isn’t a worthy sequel. This film takes place five years after the first movie and Brain is now a FBI agent, Brain is looking for a drug lord name Braga. Meanwhile Toretto is on a manhunt to find Braga as will why you have to watch the movie to find out. So they have to work together to found him and Brain try’s to reconcile with Toretto and the others. This film has a serious tone then the other films in this series. The problem I have with this movie is Toretto I mean he is not consistent in the last act. The good thing I can say about this movie is that it has cars and attractive women, is that all this series has to offer? I mean if I want to see cars I would go to a car show, if I want to see women in bikinis I would go to the beach. Don’t give me that I’m not a car race person it’s not about that this is a movie; a movie needs stories and characters. I appreciate what they are trying to do here but they fell short.
Rating = Trash
Fast Five: this is a film targeted for guys, because this film has action, cars and lots of eye candy sorry Ladies. The plot is this the gang is working for a mob boss in Rio, the job goes wrong so they decide to rob him of all his worth. Meanwhile a bounty Hunter name Hobbs is hire to bring Toretto and his gang to justice. I agree with the masses on this, this is the best one of the series. Fans of this series complain that there is not street race theme in this film, well there wasn’t a lot of that in the other film.
The first film had two street races.
The second film had two.
The third I mean the last film had three.
The third film had one.
 This movie has the same theme as the first movie that is family. I wish that this one was the last one in this Franchise, because the way this one ended was okay. I like the Hobb character because he reminds me of Tommy Lee Jones’s character in The Fugitive.  If you like Heist films you will like this. I had a problem with how they perform the heist, plus there is on one to root for.
Rating = Average

Fast and Furious 6: Is it me or is this series starting to get better? The film takes place after the previous film, Torretto and the other are enjoying there separate lives. Meanwhile Hobb goes to Toretto for help he needs his crew to help him stop another gang that is causing problems; in exchange for their help there criminal records will be wiped clean. I like the chase scene better than the previous films. The theme in this movie is once again family, I just didn't get since of that, I mean I wish that everyone in this group would react when something happens to them good or bad. The problems a have with this movie is that they bring back a character that we thought died in the fourth I mean third film, the explanation why this character is live is a cop out. Also this movie is connected to the third film. I have a problem with Toretto when he learn that this character is alive he did something that made him look like a jerk. It looks like they regret making Tokyo Drift because this movie did something to ignore that movie; also there are intelligent insulting moments in the film, and I didn’t buy the car race scene. Bottom line is this is an enjoyable film; the ending wasted as good as the previous film.

Arrow Season one review

Arrow Season one review

Intro: For those of you who don't know Arrow is a show that is base on a comic book character name Green Arrow. I was surprised and a little disappointed that this show isn't a spin off to the Green Arrow in the TV show Smallville. There was a lot riding on this show, I mean beside Batman DC is having problems making there characters successful outside the comics.

Here are some examples

The last three Superman films are bad.

Despite Smallville lasting ten seasons I wasn't crazy about that show.

None of the Superman video games are good especially Superman 64, how that game got made is beyond me.

Brids of prey got cancelled because of low rating, it lasted one season 13 episodes.

The Green Lantern movie wasn't successful. There was a Green Lantern animated series but it got cancelled due to low toy sells.

There was suppose to be a Wonder Woman TV show two years ago, if you saw the unaired pilot then you understand why it was cancelled.

Enough of the history lessons lets get into what I think of this show.

Arrow: This show is centered Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow who was shipwrecked on an island for five years, after he gets rescued he goes on a crusade to clean his city of crime with the help of a hit list from his deceased father. That becomes difficult when another archer gets in his way and learn about a conspiracy to level an area of the city. So The Hood has to figure out what it is before it's too late.

This show made me mad, No! I didn’t think it was bad but that's the reason why I’m mad. Why wasn’t Green Arrow popular or a well known figure to the general public like Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman? I mean it seems that people want relatable heroes that’s what made Batman popular. Also why didn’t this character get his own show ten years ago instead of Birds of prey

I have an issue with the show’s title, because it's creating confusing people think that this show is a different take on Robin Hood. To make this worse he isn’t called Green Arrow in this show, I understand why he isn’t called Green Arrow but give him one name and stick with it. I mean they called him Robin Hood, the Archer, the vigilante, the hood guy, the hood, green hood, green goblin and green ranger. I’m glad that this was addressed in one episode. I’m sorry I had to get that off my chest.

The themes of this show are family and redemption, almost everyone in this show had done something they want to redeem themselves of or dealing with family problems. I like how the story progress. The pilot episode was OK it would have been better if it was a two parter, because they tried to establish a lot in the pilot. At first I thought this show was going to be routine, I mean each episode is going to be about him killing off someone from his list. That wasn’t the case after I saw episode 5 which is one of my favorite episodes of this season, that episode got me interested in this show.

People compare this show to Mr. Nolan’s Batman films and  the TV show Lost, to be fair there are some scenes and lines from those films being put in this show. Also there are some similarities between Batman and Green Arrow, plus there are other batman references besides Mr. Nolan’s films.

The reason why this show is compared to Lost is because this show has flashbacks, the flashbacks deals with what Oliver when thought on the island. The flashbacks are the best part of the show for me, because some of them tie in with the episode. Also I like seeing how Oliver slowly go from typical spoiled rich kid to what he is now with the help of allies. The problem I have with the flashbacks is that there is one character that keeps appearing and we don’t know who's side he or she is on.

I like the characters in this show except for Oliver's mom, you have to watch the show to see why.

Thea (Oliver's sister.) is annoying, it's understandable why she's like that however it doesn't make sense in some episode.

Laurel is suppose to be a strong female character but she ends up being a damsel in distress.

Tommy is Oliver's best friend. We think he's the typical goofball best friend, later on we see that there's more to him.

Diggle is Oliver's bodyguard and his voice of reason. He also aid Oliver in his crusade.

Felicity Also aid Oliver in his crusade, she provides tech support and humor.

Dark Archer (The main villain) is OK he pose as a physical threat. The problem I have with him is that he didn't become interesting until towers the end of the season.

The problems I have with this show is the inconsistencies with the characters and what was establish in previous episodes. Another gripe I have with this show is episode 21, I mean something happened in that episode that undermined the father and son story that this show had. Also it created plot holes around the main villain's plan and Oliver's hit list. I have mix feelings about Green Arrow killing people. On one hand he talks about justice you can't do that if your committing mass murder, plus he reminds me of the Punisher. On the other hand I like that he doesn't pull his punches. Law Enforcement don't do that why should you?

Also if there going to have him work with the Detective in this show that needs to get fixed. Bottom line this is a good show I would recommend this to both fans and non fans alike. The changes they made from the comics didn't bother me that much, with the exception of making this green Arrow a surrogate Batman. In fact if this was the New 52 Green Arrow I would read it.

P.S I’m surprise that this show is going to get a second season because things happened in this season that I thought was going to happen later on, plus it wouldn't have gotten a second season if this was on any other network. I can forgive them for how this season played out, however it's going to take time for me to forgive them for what they did in the final episode. Now that this show is getting a second season hopefully it's more flute and fixes some of the problems from this season. The real question is how long will this show last?

Iron Man 3 review

Iron Man 3 review

Intro: I was done just done with these third movies I've been disappointed beyond believe. I’m tired of the convoluted plot, continuity issues, false advertisement, I was just sick of it. After I saw the dark knight rises I don’t want to see this movie under principles, but the trailers sucker me in and after seeing how successful The Avengers was I decide to give this movie a change. Besides Marvel has a good thing going and they can’t afford to screw that up. After seeing this movie I was once again disappointed, I guess making a good third movie is an impossible task. I’m sorry I’m too angry to review this movie I want to see someone get hurt.

Now that we got that out of the way on to my review.
Iron Man 3: This film is center on Tony Stark/ Iron Man dealing with the aftermath of the Avengers, meanwhile a new villain called the mandarin is creating chaos so Iron Man has to stop him. You know what screw it the mandarin is not the main villain; I’m sorry I can’t talk about this movie without spoiling it for y’all and I’m not going to lie to y’all. Like I said the mandarin is not the main villain in fact his not a character at all, he’s just in the movie for some cheap laughs and to distract us for the real villain. This is the dark knight rises all over again, I’m tired of Hollywood advertising someone as the main villain and then we find out that it’s someone else. They have done this with Batman ReturnsIron Man 2, the dark knight rises and now this movie. What’s next y’all are going to advertise Thanos as the main villain in Avengers 2 then we find out that the red skull is the main villain to hole time? Another problem I had with this movie is the comedy it wasn’t bad it was just too much of it, Marvel Studios did y’all learn anything from Iron man 2? I mean basically everything turns into a joke, if they advertise this movie as a comedy I wouldn't be mad. Also I wish the extremis virus was flush out more, I mean I wish they would explain how it works. It basically gives you superpowers. The subplot of Tony having trouble sleeping how that got fixed was confusing. The last fight was repetitive, I mean it was like watching someone playing Street Fighter and he or she keeps losing to the AI. The good things I can say about the movie is that it ask the question does the suit make the man or does the man make the suit? I thought that could have been done better. I also like the action scenes and Rhodey rhodes sever a bigger role then he did in the last two films. Bottom line is this Iron man 3 was not a good start for phase 2.
